Doug, Bass and Guitar
Doug teaches bass and guitar. He specializes in Rock, Funk, Blues, Gospel, and Christian. He has played in assorted cover and original bands of all styles. He attended two years at the Berklee College of Music.
Pete Brown, Drums
Pete teaches drums, and works with all styles and levels of experience.Pete Brown has been teaching private lessons at Russo's for 22+ years, with 40-55 students a week. Pete's been a part of many working bands from 1982 - present. He has done many local theatre gigs, orchestral concerts, weddings, and parades. Some of his full time gigs were Nix and the Side Kixx, the Jay Vons, drum solo performance (Ice Breaker Suite 1996), and Dr. Doz band (currently performing), along with countless other sit-ins. Pete has a Bachelors in Music / Percussion Performance from the College of New Jersey, and was a student of Tony Denicolas for 9 years.
Dan, Guitar
Dan teaches guitar, and works in anything from Rock and Pop to Jazz and Blues. Here's a bit from Dan. "I've been playing the guitar since I was eight. Throughout my young childhood I've got to experience a variety of styles that I teach today. I've played with different jazz groups and blues rock groups including local legends like Joe Zook, Ernie White, and Paul Plumeri. As I got more experienced, I started my own projects with other musicians. I evevtually went to school where I played with a Jazz Big Band for two years. Currently I have a band called amleah, and I have six years teaching guitar." Dan holds a college degree in Music.
Kevin, Guitar
Kevin shreds guitar, and teaches Hard Rock, Classic, Heavy Metal, and Acoustic. He currently plays in "Acoustic INC.". He plays 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's acoustic covers as well as recording some originals. Kevin has been teaching at Russo's for about ten years. He has studied with Ernie White, Joe Frederico, and John Hushwell. He also played in Harter Attack in the 80's. He has taken and given local lessons, and is self taught.
Scott, Guitar and Bass
Scott teaches guitar and bass. He works with Rock, Pop, top 40, and a little bit of everything else. He currently plays in a cover band called Drop Dead Sexy, and loves to write and record his own music. Scott holds a BIT degree that he received in 1989, and took lessons from Russo's in the early 80's!
Michael Remoli, Guitar
Michael Remoli teahces guitar, specializing in jazz, rock and fusion. He has performed in ensembles with Eric Alexander, Mike Dirubbo, Joe Magnarelli, Jim Mckenna, John Swanna, Phil Woods, Tony Macelli, Rickie Cole, Mick Rossi and many others. Michael studied music at Rutgers University. studied guitar with Dennis Sandole and Ted Dunbar.
Ronald Biela, Jr., Woodwind and Brasswind
Ronald Biela, Jr teaches saxophone, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone and has been playing and teaching for over 25 years. Ronald holds a Bachelor of Music from William Paterson.
Ruth Tarectecan, Piano and Guitar
Ruth Tarectecan is a Classical/Pop Piano/Beginner Guitar teacher here at Russos. She started piano when she was 3 years old and has competed, performed, and has received numerous awards in many venues such as Carnegie Hall and Steinway Hall in New York, and also in Chioggia, Italy. She attended Westminster Choir College studying Music Education, and then Piano Performance. In addition to piano, Ruth teaches beginner guitar.
