Description
Sterling delivers a short-scale iteration of the beloved StingRay bass, packing all the same mighty low-end tonality into a 30" scale length. Comfortable and compact for players of all sizes, this StingRay forms its lightweight body from Nyatoh, covered in a Toluca Lake Blue gloss finish that shines on every stage. A pearloid pickguard and chrome hardware round out the aesthetic package, while the tone delivers a solid, resonant bass that defines the low end while remaining present in the midrange. Attached to the body is a roasted maple neck, touting that short scale for effortless playability. Topping the neck is a rosewood fingerboard adorned with white dot inlays and medium-sized frets to guide each bassist to musical glory.
Hardware appointments make this short-scale StingRay a sturdy and reliable instrument. To start, the bridge supports solid intonation and helps this bass produce its legendary resonance with fantastic string-to-body vibration transfer. Next, open-gear tuning machines at the headstock ensure proper pitch through all jams and gigs. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, a single neodymium humbucking pickup slots into the bridge position, producing the low-end thump and articulation that will make your grooves stand out. A rotary switch allows the pickup to be configured to parallel, single-coil, and series modes, while the volume knob offers a push/pull mechanism for a boost that further amplifies the bass.
This StingRay may be small, but the sound is huge.
