The Yamaha SLG200S Silent Guitar presents a modern take on the steel-string acoustic, shaped around silent performance, portability, and streamlined function. Constructed with a solid mahogany body core and detachable maple and rosewood frame, this model departs from traditional acoustics in both form and acoustical response, engineered for minimal resonance and focused tone capture. Its design maintains standard scale and spacing, making it accessible for players accustomed to full-size instruments.

The neck features matte-finished mahogany paired with a rosewood fingerboard and a 400mm radius, capped with 22 frets. The SLG200S employs Yamaha's SRT Powered pickup system, delivering a processed acoustic-style tone through headphones or direct output. Controls for volume, bass, treble, SRT blend, and onboard effects are housed on the side-mounted preamp. Additionally, a built-in tuner and dedicated jacks for headphones, auxiliary input, and line output are integrated into the body, supporting quiet practice and external audio playback.

Tuning stability comes from RM1242N-4 machines, with a 43mm nut width and standard 25" scale length. Finished in a gloss tobacco sunburst, the instrument includes a carry bag and stereo earphones. The SLG200S is suited to environments where traditional acoustic volume is impractical or unnecessary, balancing conventional playability with modern signal control.
