Description
Heritage, craftsmanship, character—these are the first thoughts to come to mind when reminiscing on the iconic El Dorado, and Epiphone, with help of renowned artist Marcus King, reissues the legendary model as an accessible, reliable acoustic-electric guitar, perfectly suited for songwriters of all styles. A loving tribute to King's first-ever guitar; an ode to his 2020 record of the same name, this artist signature Epiphone El Dorado exudes lasting influence and infinite creativity.
This limited-edition recreation of Marcus' original guitar begins with a solid spruce top, finished in an antique natural gloss finish, adorned with four-ply binding, and topped with the always recognizable El Dorado black pickguard. Forming the dreadnought body shape are solid rosewood back and sides, sporting a single-ply binding for timeless elegance. The belly down rosewood bridge with compensated bone saddle provides excellent vibration transfer, while the custom inlays lend more character to the already unique instrument. This special build culminates in a resonant wonder that produces warm, robust tones that suites all acoustic applications.
Further exemplifying the excellent build of the El Dorado is the dovetail jointed mahogany neck, offered in a comfortable Rounded C profile for intuitive playing across the entire 25.5" scale length. Topping the neck is a three-ply bound rosewood fingerboard, supplying 20 frets and mother of pearl block inlays to guide the path to ringing chords and soaring leads. At the 70s MIJ-inspired headstock, the El Dorado sports a bone nut and Epiphone Deluxe tuning machines, providing solid intonation and reliable pitches for a lifelong musical journey.
Amplifying the El Dorado further is the powerful LR Baggs Element Bronze electronics system, outfitted with both under-saddle pickup and preamp with discreet controls to translate the acoustic brilliance to stages and recording setups. Uncompromising, the El Dorado provides the same resonant tone when plugged or unplugged, at jams or shows, and if it works for Marcus King then it surely works for us.
Secured in a Marcus King signature hardshell case, the Epiphone El Dorado acoustic-electric guitar is ready to hit the road for a life of stages and songwriting—just as King intended.
