Everything here on this 16 Series DSS starts with a sloped-shoulder dreadnought body brought together from spruce and mahogany. Reminiscent of dreadnoughts favored by the singer-songwriters of the 1960s, this sloped-shoulder frame presents a sleek, smooth, and comfortable shape to pick up and play. This dreadnought shape is treated to a match of a gloss top and satin back and sides finishes, uniquely balancing either finish with a quenching Cherry Cola top color. Within, forward-shifted scalloped spruce braces enhance sustain and bass response across the guitar's 24.9" scale length.

From here, this DSS-16E brings on a select hardwood neck in a Modified Low Oval profile with a High Performance taper. This smoother, sleeker, more modern profile enables swift moves from lower to higher registers and every place in between – in addition to a satin finish of its own. An ebony fingerboard lays out across this neck lined with twenty frets and 1955 Style 18 Mother of Pearl inlays for an effortless feel on the fingers.

Supporting the whole musical excursion, this DSS-16E features a number of sturdy hardware specifications. At the base of its scale, an ebony bridge in a Modern Straightline shape lands with a drop-in TUSQ saddle. Toward the opposite end, a bone nut and nickel open gear tuning machines ground strings stably for smooth stringing. Taking this dreadnought to the stage, onboard L.R. Baggs Element electronics project the guitar's tones seamlessly while an included Martin soft shell case keeps things safe and secure on the road.
