Description

Loud and proud in the refreshed 16 Series, the Martin Grand J-16E 12 String is a powerful, twelve-string Jumbo-style with a radiant voice and aesthetic. Pairing an eye-catching modern looks of the 16 Series with the time-tested tenets of Martin Jumbos, the Grand J-16E 12 String punches up for a powerful twelve-string in the 16 Series and Martin line at large.

For the 16 Series, Martin design tenets get gussied up for new, highly artistic and musical avenues. Everything here with this 16 Series starts with a Martin Grand J-14 Fret Jumbo body brought together from spruce and East Indian rosewood. These two classic Martin tonewoods assemble in a unique Jumbo-sized body with a seventeen-inch width and 000 concert-style depth. This loud-and-proud body style serves the classic combo of tonewoods with iconic spruce chirp and rosewood richness. Non-scalloped spruce braces in an X-Brace pattern bolster these qualities for radiant twelve-string chime and jangle. Aesthetically, this 16 Series features gloss top and satin back and sides finishes with a Vintage Tint top color.

From here, this Grand J-16E 12 String brings on a select hardwood neck shaped in a Martin 12 String profile with a High Performance taper. This neck, treated to a soft satin finish, makes for a smooth and easy playing experience at each position. An ebony fingerboard lined with twenty frets and Style 28 Mother of Pearl inlays match this neck with a comfortable but articulate fretting experience.

Backing up this Grand Jumbo, this 16 Series features a lineup of sturdy hardware specifications. Toward the base of the 25.4" scale length, an ebony bridge in a Modern Belly shape lands with a drop-in TUSQ saddle for a solid connection string-to-body. At the opposite end, a bone nut and nickel open gear tuning machines ground strings smoothly and stably. Once on the stage, the Grand J-16E 12 String comes to life with L.R. Baggs Element electronics. Once off the stage, an included Martin soft shell case carries this Jumbo from place to place securely.

A royal example of a twelve-string, the Grand J-16E 12 String offers you the fast track to the throne.
