Description

Shining brightly in the refreshed 16 Series, the Martin J-16E 1935 Burst is a stage-stealing Jumbo-sized acoustic with a formidable voice and an effortlessly slick aesthetic. Pairing the modern looks and playability of the 16 Series with the beloved, time-tested design tenets of Martin Jumbos, the J-16E 1935 Burst is a knockout take on Jumbos for the 16 Series and Martin line totally.

In the 16 Series, Martin design blueprints are treated to a fresh coat of paint to steal the stage with highly artistic and musical models. Everything here on this 16 Series kicks off with a Martin J-14 Fret Jumbo body brought together from spruce and East Indian rosewood – a classic combo of Martin tonewoods. These two icons of the Martin line assemble a formidable J-14 Jumbo body with commanding sights and sounds. A gloss 1935 Burst-colored top pairs with satin-finished back and sides to present an inviting look and feel in the 16 Series, along with that beloved match of spruce brightness and rosewood richness. Within, this 16 Series is lined with scalloped spruce braces in an X-Brace pattern for livening tone and enhancing projection and sustain.

From here, this J-14 Fret brings on a select hardwood neck in a Modified Low Oval profile with a High Performance taper. This modern Martin measurement streamlines smooth moves from lower to higher registers with a soft satin finish in the palm. Matching this mobility, an ebony fingerboard with twenty frets lays out with Mother of Pearl Style 28 inlays. Articulate frets present a comfortable, precise feel on the fingertips for any kind of playing style.

This 16 Series J-14 is then backed by a number of impressive hardware specifications. At the base of the 25.4" scale length, this guitar's ebony bridge lands with a Modern Belly shape and a drop-in TUSQ saddle. Abalone-dotted bridge pins connect for a sturdy transfer of motion string-to-body while a bone nut and nickel open gear tuning machines ground strings at the scale's opposite end. Sturdy intonation and quick stringing make this J-14 Jumbo seamless to set up and play. Onstage, the J-16E 1935 Burst comes to life with L.R. Baggs Element electronics. Moving from stage to stage, an included Martin softshell case makes transport effortless.

A bold, bright Jumbo for their refreshed 16 Series, Martin goes big with the J-16E 1935 Burst.
