Description

Swinging for the fences in the refreshed 16 Series, the Martin J-16E Cream is a sweet and smooth Jumbo-sized acoustic with a formidable voice and a too-cool aesthetic. Pairing the modern look and playability of the 16 Series with the time-tested tenets of Martin Jumbos, the J-16E Cream is a striking take for the 16 Series and Martin line at large.

In the 16 Series, Martin design standards get turned on their heads for new, highly artistic and musical avenues. Everything with this 16 Series begins with a Martin J-14 Fret Jumbo body brought together from spruce and East Indian rosewood – a classic combo of Martin woods. These two icons of the Martin line bring together an imposing J-14 Jumbo body with a commanding look and sound. A gloss cream-colored top matches with satin-finished back and sides to produce a captivating look and feel for this 16 Series, alongside an iconic match of spruce brightness and rosewood richness. Within, this 16 Series is lined with scalloped spruce braces in an X-Brace pattern for livening tone and enhancing sustain and projection.

From here, this J-14 Fret brings on a select hardwood neck in a Modified Low Oval profile with a High Performance taper. This more modern Martin measurement ensures smooth moves from lower to higher registers with a soft satin finish across the palm. Matching this mobility, an ebony fingerboard with twenty frets lays out with Mother of Pearl Style 28 inlays. Precise frets perfect for fingerpicking or campfire chords present a seamless feel on the fingertips at every level.

This 16 Series J-14 is backed up by a series of hardware specifications sure to impress. At the base of the 25.4" scale length, an ebony bridge lands with a Modern Belly shape and a drop-in TUSQ saddle. Abalone-dotted bridge pins offer sturdy connection string-to-body while a bone nut and nickel open gear tuners ground strings at the scale's opposite end. Quick stringing experiences with sturdy intonation make managing this 16 Series a breeze. Onstage, the J-16E Cream comes to life with L.R. Baggs Element electronics. Moving from stage to stage, an included Martin softshell case makes transport seamless.

A sweet, smooth Jumbo to excite in their refreshed 16 Series, Martin goes big with the J-16E Cream.
