There is a thin piece of spruce that runs up the center of the top that is visible. The back is highly figured three-piece maple. There is some buckle rash on the back from the previous owner, a small crack that has been cleated on the side treble side of the guitar. This Grand Auditorium has the older Taylor Expression System electronics system and is "pre V-Class."

This guitar is now fully functional and comes with the original hard-shell case.
