Description
A new addition to Walrus Audio's simply effective Fundamental Series, the Lo-Fi Delay injects some serious character into your typical delay effect, touting three different algorithms for dark and distorted to bright and fluttery echoes. Easily controllable with standard Time, Feedback, and Mix controls, and with tap tempo and subdivision function to boot, hypnotic time-based sonic shaping can be achieved in mere seconds.
The slide switch allows you to cycle through the delay modes, the first of which being AM, offering high-passed, bright echoing with light harmonic distortion and wow and flutter modulation on the repeats. Gentle pitch movement can be noticed on the tails as they degrade like a weak radio signal. Very cool stuff if you ask us. Coolness continues with the Murk mode, lending dark and dense repeats with heavy distortion and modulation that clumps repeats into a moody cloud of compressed ambience. Spooky. Lastly, ECHO mode supplies a rhythmic, multi-tap delay that is reminiscent of traditional analog tone shaping with almost percussive flair. When delay times are set short, the taps merge into a dense space that borders delay and reverb. When the times are pushed longer, you'll achieve syncopated, psychedelic patterns that weave in and out of your instrument's grooves. Trust us, you're gonna have a blast with this one.
Featuring buffered bypass switching and a trails mode that changes how delays behave when the pedal is bypassed, this Lo-Fi Fundamental entry will quickly become a pedalboard staple. Believe us, it's already on ours!
