The neck of the Epiphone '63 Firebird V is cut from a blend of mahogany and walnut, topped with a smooth Indian laurel fingerboard featuring mother of pearl trapezoid inlays, and 22 Medium Jumbo frets. The headstock is adorned with Kluson "banjo-style" planetary tuning machines.

At the heart of the Epiphone '63 Firebird V are two Gibson USA Firebird Mini Humbuckers with Alnico 5 magnets, designed to replicate the iconic tones of the original '63 Firebird.
