Does it come in black? Yes! A modern, fresh take on the Jaguar with updated hardware, electronics, and finishes – introducing the Fender American Professional Jaguar. For over 60 years, the Jaguar has inspired players with a short scale platform to create music with. Reworked and refreshed, the Jag is back with a sleek black finish.

The Jag is constructed from the traditional Fender tonewood formula – an alder body and bolt-on maple neck. The Jag's offset, double-cutaway contoured design make it a comfortable option for many and the inclusion of a sculpted neck heel makes fretting in the upper register a breeze. The body sports nickel/chrome hardware, 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard, and aged white plastics. Its bolt-on maple neck is carved to a Deep "C" profile and is finished with a "Super-Natural" satin finish for comfort. A 9.5-inch radius rosewood fingerboard tops the neck with rolled fingerboard edges and 22 narrow tall frets.

New to the American Professional series, V-Mod III single-coil Jaguar pickups are located in the neck and bridge positions to amplify its voice. Designed specifically for each position, the pickups are slightly overwound for punch and presence while retaining vintage-inspired warmth. The bridge position is equipped with a tap function accessible via the tone knob – delivering a mid-range focused sound or a traditional low output sound. Rhythm and Lead Circuit controls, master volume, and master tone controls offer a range of sonic exploration. The Panorama Tremolo system with pop-in arm and J-Bridge offers a range of expressive vibrato – from old school warble to Strat-inspired dives. Strings are loaded through the bridge and tuned to pitch with the Fender Standard Cast/Sealed Staggered tuning machines.
