Description
Back and better than ever, the Fender American Professional series returns refreshed and re-worked with this Precision Bass finished in Olympic White. For over 70 years the Precision bass has held down the low end inspired generations of musicians, and has been featured on countless recordings – this latest version has evolved from the demands of today's player.
The Precision gets its contoured double-cutaway body from a quality piece of alder and sports a Olympic White finish. The body is further accented with nickel/chrome hardware and 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard. Joining the body around the 15th fret, a bolt-on maple neck provides smooth playability with its modified '63 P Bass neck profile, rounded fingerboard edges, and satin finished back. Supporting the neck from the inside out, Posiflex graphite rods inside the neck reinforce against movement that can occur from fluctuations in climate. The upper register of the neck is easier to reach thanks to the sculpted neck heel, a returning feature in the American Professional line. The maple board is crowned with 20 narrow tall frets and sports black dot fingerboard inlays.
For its sonic voice, a single V-Mod III Split Single-Coil Precision Bass pickup located in the middle position provides classic P bass tone. New to the American Professional series, the V-Mod III is a modified version of Fender's classic pickup design we all know and love, but with added clarity and definition. Electronics are wired to ClassicGear Precision Potentiometers – delivering smooth, consistent control with custom torque. Tone can be explored with the volume and tone controls. A high quality HiMass Pro bridge anchor strings down in either a string-through or top-load fashion then are nested in the bone nut slots, and are tuned to pitch with Fender Lightweight Vintage-Style tuning keys with tapered shafts. The P is accompanied by a deluxe molded case for safe keeping.
A vintage 4-string design, improved for today's player – purely professional.
