Fender Custom Shop Postmodern Stratocaster Journeyman, Rosewood Fingerboard, 3-Color Sunburst

The Fender Custom Shop Postmodern series of guitars combines classic vintage Fender design with modern creature comforts for the best of both worlds. This Fender Custom Shop Postmodern Stratocaster does just that. From a distance it may look just like a black guard, 3-tone-burst Stratocaster, but it features some under-the-hood performance features and playability improvements that make this an incredible guitar playing experience. 

The guitar starts with a 2-piece alder body, sorted for lightweight. It has '57 Strat style deep body contours and the classic 3-tone finish. Turn it over and right away you'll notice the heel cutaway for easy upper fret access. This pairs perfectly with the ultra-modern compound radius fingerboard that starts at a round 9.5" and flattens to a 12" as you move up the board. Comfy chord shapes in the first position, and smooth, low-action bends up top are all possible with this design. Under the guard you will find 3 Strat Dual Mag pickups controlled by a 1/2 blender with a Greasebucket Tone-Saver from the factory. Use the 1/2 blender to incorporate the neck pickup into the 1 and 2 positions for extra tonal possibilities. The Tone-Saver retains your highs even as you decrease the volume, allowing you to use your controls in more dynamic ways than a standard Strat. 

Neck profile on this guitar is the 1959"D" which compliments the compound radius board well. The AAA rosewood is round laminated and sorted for darker wood. It's loaded with narrow/tall 6105 frets and vintage style clay dots for markers. The neck is taken down to the wood which isn't typically part of the Journeyman relic process but works very nicely in the Postmodern platform. 

The rest of the body features the Journeyman Relic treatment with nicks and dings but no heavy wear with excessive wood showing (aside for the aforementioned back of neck).
