Fender Custom Shop '53 Telecaster Relic Electric Guitar, Maple Fingerboard, Aged Melon Candy

This Fender Custom Shop '53 Telecaster Relic is a modern tribute to one of the most iconic electric guitars in history, designed to capture the essence of the original '53 Telecaster. This '53 Telecaster Relic delivers vintage charm and timeless tone, as well as the Fender Custom Shop's iconic relic treatment. 

The body of the '53 Telecaster Relic is carved from 2-piece ash, sorted by the Fender Custom Shop for weight to ensure that this instrument is as light as possible. Attached, a AA Flame Maple cut to a '50-Style "U" profile makes this guitar as comfortable as a Fender Custom Tele should be. With a .900 neck spec that remains the same from fret one to twelve, this neck remains consistent from the nut to butt. In comparison to the relatively straight neck specs, fingerboard boasts a 9.50" radius, and is topped with Micarta Black .250 inlays spaced wide, as well as 21 Narrow Tall frets. Some tasteful fret ghosting starts heavily in the cowboy-chord range and diminishes as it moved up the neck.

This Tele comes loaded with handwired FCS Tele Texas Special pickups in both neck and bridge, wound specifically for a vintage-inspired voicing in each of their respective positions. These pickups are controlled by a simple three-way pickup selector, as well as a Tone and Volume knob.

In the hardware department, vintage-style tuning machines with the Fender logo, a bone nut for superior tone transfer and sustain, and a relic'd '51-'54 Telecaster bridge are all relic'd to match the appearance of the rest of the guitar. Fender Custom Shop's Relic treatment is the star of the show here, leaving this guitar with a finish that resembles that of a guitar born in the '50s and played, albeit taken care of greatly, over the years. There's minor wear down to the wood in the form of buckle rash, forearm wear, and minor dings here and there. The back of the neck is still finished with nitro lacquer. 

The guitar comes housed in a deluxe FCS Tele tweed case, providing stylish protection for this stunning '53 Telecaster.
