Fender Custom Shop '56 Esquire Relic Electric Guitar, Super Faded Burgundy Mist Metallic

Sometimes, all you really need is an Esquire. Introducing the Fender Custom Shop '56 Esquire Relic finished in Super Faded Burgundy Mist Metallic. This single pickup wonder is fresh in from the Fender Custom Shop in Corona, California and ready to charm. The Esquire may not be the most sophisticated electric out there, but it sure does know that "less is more" – we love that.

This Esquire gets its signature single-cutaway body from a slab of ash – 2 pieces that were sorted for weight. At only 6 lb 8.2 oz, this one is light and resonant. The body is wrapped in a relic'd Super Faded Burgundy Mist Metallic finish and is accented with Closet Classic aged chrome/nickel hardware and 1-ply parchment vinyl pickguard. It's neck is crafted from quartersawn maple and sports an off center "V" shape profile. The neck is affixed to the body in a traditional 4-bolt/neck plate fashion and meets the body at the 17th fret. The neck features a unfinished back, 7.25-9.50-inch compound radius, 21 narrow tall frets, and black dot inlay markers for smooth playability.

Sporting a single, but powerful pickup, the bridge position is loaded with a handwound '55/'56 Tele single-coil pickup. Thanks to its control set, the pickup can handle a variety of tonal situations. Using the 3-way switch, position 1 offers signal to pass through only the volume control, position 2 offers standard volume/tone pot functionality, while position 3 offers the volume pot and a fixed tone. Strings are loaded through the 3-barrel '55-'57 Tele style bridge before resting in the slotted bone nut and are tuned to pitch with the vintage-style Fender tuning machines. The headstock proudly displays a Fender Custom Shop logo on the back while the era appropriate '50-'62 style Esquire decal are on the front.

The Esquire comes complete with a Fender Custom Shop tweed hardshell case with orange interior for safe keeping. In the case, you'll find the traveler sheet and COA. Simplistic and efficient is what this Esquire is all about.
