Description

We're sherwood glad this Fender Custom Shop 1966 Telecaster came through our doors – sporting a Aged Sherwood Green Metallic Deluxe Closet Classic finish. This particular example displays stunning finish checking, plays exceptionally well, and was crafted by Fender's best to deliver great tone.

This '66 Tele body is crafted from a 2-piece alder body that was sorted for weight – clocking in at only 7 lb 13.8 oz. The aged sherwood green metallic finish pairs well with the 3-ply white pickguard, chrome/nickel hardware, and bolt-on quartersawn maple neck. The neck is craved to a '60s style oval "C" shape; providing easy playability. The maple fingerboard's 9.5-inch radius board keep things feeling modern, while the 21 vintage upgrade frets provide a smooth fretting experience. The Deluxe Closet Classic finish treatment simulates decades of gentle use – displaying hardware patina and finish checking, leaving it up to the player to start putting real battle scars on the instrument with time, aging to your unique play style.

A set of handwound '67 Tele single-coil pickups offer late '60s Tele twang with clear articulation in both the neck and bridge positions. Made with period accurate materials, they've been fine tuned for tonal excellence. The pickups are wired to the single volume and tone controls and can be toggled between with the 3-way selector switch. Strings are loaded through the body and make contact with the 3-saddle bridge before resting in the bone nut slots and are tuned to pitch with the vintage-style tuning machines. Overall, the Tele feels solid and smooth.

The 1966 Telecaster comes accompanied by its Fender Custom Shop black hardshell case with red plush interior and COA. Whether its country, rock, or pop, sometimes all you need is a good Tele to get the job done – we're confident this one can handle it all.
