Fender Custom Shop '51 Telecaster Journeyman Relic Electric Guitar, Aged Dirty Shell Pink

We're simply tickled on this Fender Custom Shop '51 Telecaster in a soft Aged Dirty Shell Pink! This very customized, very classic, very classy Tele assembles with a host of vintage-inspired specs with cool wear, age, and character found throughout. Custom specifications breathe life into this '50s-style Telecaster for a rough-and-ready instrument balancing high horsepower and soft sensibilities.

A classic Tele in more ways than one, this '51 Telecaster brings together a smorgasbord of lived-in features bursting with personality. Everything begins with a two-piece, off-center ash body sorted for weight. This guitar's treble-side-seam body features a "sorted" quality, where, during construction, a Custom Shop builder will select a cut body among a lot for its light weight. Contributing to the guitar landing just above seven pounds, this classically light and resonant Fender tonewood plays a starring role tonally and aesthetically.

What's more, this ash cut works as a canvas on which a Fender Custom Shop Journeyman Relic finish treatment can wash. A favorite level of relic among Custom Shop aficionados, Journeyman Relic simulates a lacquer finish well-loved, well-aged, and seen its fair share of the spotlight. The faded, dirtier Aged Dirty Shell Pink gloss lacquer finish additionally features no grain fill for a bolder look across the ash body.

From here, this Custom Shop creation introduces a AA quartersawn flame maple neck in a 1951 "U" profile. This fuller, rounder, '50s-inspired profile plays seamlessly for fans of Fender's earlier necks along with a unique "unfinished" relic back. The quartersawn maple fills out to a fingerboard bearing twenty-one Narrow Tall frets for a more modern, articulate feel on the fingers. Modernity is pushed forward with this Tele with a compound radius fingerboard measuring from a rounded, vintage 7.25" near the nut to a modern 12" moving toward the body. Totally, the neck blooms with uniqueness with its profile measuring to a custom dimension .845" thick at the first fret to .900" at the twelfth.

This pink Tele pops with a couple of vintage-inspired electronics. Two handwound '51 Nocaster single-coil pickups plays with all the twang and snap of some of Fender's earliest single-cutaway models. Shaped with Modified '51 Nocaster wiring, these pickups burst in classically "Fender" single-coil fashion. A number of hardware specifications back up this sonic palette including a bone nut, a barrel-saddle bridge, and vintage-style tuning machines. This '51 Telecaster ships with an included Fender Custom Shop Strat/Tele Tweed hardshell case.
