Commemorating the indispensable instruments of Fender's "Golden Era," the JV – or "Japanese Vintage" – Modified series takes cues from Fender "Japanese Vintage" reissue models made in Japan in the early 1980s. Today's JV Modified series comes together to celebrate the style and sound of Telecasters and Stratocasters from a distinctly unique point in Fender history.
The JV Modified '50s Stratocaster HSS features a basswood body in the iconic, comfortable, double-cutaway Stratocaster shape. This basswood body is paired with a maple neck in a thick, Soft "V"-shape with a satin finish, hearkening to Stratocaster neck profiles of the 1950s. A maple fingerboard with Medium Jumbo-sized frets offers a silky smooth feel on the fingers for easy transitions from strumming chords to riffing on leads. Two vintage-voiced Fender Stratocaster single-coil pickups and one medium-output humbucking pickup combine for a wide spectrum of classic Fender tones. A push/pull control on the second tone knob splits the humbucker to add to the Stratocaster's classic sparkling single-coil clarity. Vintage-style locking tuners and a vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge ensure solid intonation and seamless tuning. The stellar specifications the JV Modified '50s Stratocaster HSS present offer new tonal avenues for players to explore.
