Through one of Gibson's most prolific eras, "T-Top" humbuckers reigned supreme – and today, we've got the Gibson 1968 T-Top Reissue in Double Black. Known for their brighter and more aggressive tone compared to original Gibson late '50s Patent Applied For humbuckers, "T-Tops" quickly became favorites of new rock revolutionaries like Pete Townshend, Angus Young, Randy Rhoads, and Tony Iommi. Today's 1968 T-Top Reissues revive the iconic sound of the stadium-filling rock riffage that defined the 1970s.
The Gibson Pickup Shop 1968 T-Top Reissue humbucker plays faithfully to original T-Tops produced from 1966 to 1979. Alnico 5 magnets and period-correct wiring specifications make for humbuckers that accurately recreate the look and sound of original "T"-stamped marking Gibson humbuckers. 2-conductor wiring at an average DC resistance of 7.5k with Double Vintage White T-Top bobbins top everything off for a pickup taking either the neck or bridge position.
