This majesty of an instrument is a modern-day recreation of one of the earliest examples of a Gibson acoustic guitar as we know them today. Crafted with the finest attention to detail and the most devoted reverence to the original models, this replica of a late 1930s Gibson acoustic guitar tells its story visually and tonally. The uniquely shaped Pre-War SJ-200 starts out select thermally Aged Adirondack red spruce on top and rosewood back and sides. A two-piece maple neck in a "D"-shaped profile and bound ebony fingerboard come together for a period-accurate shape in hand. The full voice of this guitar rings out with a pristine vintage tone that captures the smallest qualities of acoustic mastery Gibson had already garnered by the late '30s. Traditional hand-scalloped "X"-bracing keeps the tonal experience fully authentic.
