Description
Flapping its wings in a thoroughly modern fashion, the Gibson Hummingbird Original flutters with classic Gibson design and marvelously vivid L.R. Baggs electronics! This favorite of the Gibson acoustic canon assembles in its classic square-shoulder dreadnought form for a Hummingbird to fly on and on.
In the Original series, Gibson acoustics are treated to quality tonewoods and high-fidelity electronics. While there's newness abound, everything with this Hummingbird starts with a classic square-shoulder dreadnought shape brought together from spruce and mahogany. Sitka spruce and solid mahogany assemble in a shape favored by '60s singer-songwriters for a bright and vivid tone. Multi-ply top and back binding wrap this Hummingbird body for a clean, geometric aesthetic while, internally, traditional hand-scalloped X-Bracing livens brightness and projection.
From here, this Hummingbird Original brings on a mahogany neck in a Rounded profile. This easily-handled neck presents an easy access point to each section of the scale. Moving from the highest to lowest sections of the neck, a bound rosewood fingerboard lands with Mother of Pearl Parallelogram inlays. Twenty Standard-sized frets make for an articulate fretting feel on the fingertips.
This Original series Hummingbird backs up its musicality with sturdy hardware specifications. At the base of the scale, a Traditional Belly Up bridge lands with a bone saddle for a solid connection of motion. Toward the headstock, a bone nut and Grover Keystone tuning machines ensure smooth stringing and sturdy intonation. L.R. Baggs HiFi DNA electronics equip the Hummingbird with readiness to take to the stage. The guitar's vivid tones breathe throughout with detail and character through the pickup and preamp. A hardshell case comes included with this Hummingbird Original.
Classically light and bright, this Hummingbird Original flutters into the future with a new pair of wings.
