A bright bird flying for generations, the Gibson Hummingbird Standard HiFi is a classic dreadnought of the Gibson canon. One of Gibson's most iconic historic models, the Hummingbird is treated to thoroughly modern fittings and time-tested design tenets with quality tonewoods, aesthetics, and exclusive L.R. Baggs electronics.

For this Modern Collection entry, the Gibson Hummingbird is dressed to the nines with high-quality tonewoods and a striking electronics setup. Everything begins, however, with a classic Hummingbird square-shoulder dreadnought body shape brought together from solid Sitka spruce and mahogany. This classic pair of tonewoods produce the iconic balance of brightness and bass, only enhanced by traditional scalloped X-Bracing. These woods are then wrapped in a gloss nitrocellulose finish for its charming Vintage Cherry Sunburst color.

Reaching out, this Hummingbird brings on a mahogany neck in a Rounded profile. Affixed to the body through hot hide glue adhesive, this neck moves smoothly at every region of the scale. A bound rosewood fingerboard lands with this neck lined with twenty Standard-sized frets and Mother of Pearl Split Parallelogram inlays. This comfortable, quality rosewood board presents a smooth and articulate fretting feel on the fingertips.

Backing up its musicality, this Modern Collection model introduces a number of sturdy hardware specifications. For one, a rosewood reverse-belly bridge lands with a TUSQ saddle for a solid transfer of motion string-to-body. For another, a TUSQ nut and Grover Rotomatic tuning machines appear toward the headstock offering smooth stringing experiences and sturdy intonation. This Hummingbird flutters to the stage with exclusive L.R. Baggs HiFi DNA pickup and preamp electronics and an included hardshell case.
