Description

As one of Gibson's most dazzling and decadent acoustics, the SJ-200 is a showstopper – to continue with this reputation, we have the Gibson SJ-200 Studio Rosewood. This loud and proud acoustic comes together with a suite of fine specifications and sounds primed for performance.

Coming straight from Gibson's Bozeman, Montana acoustic factory, the SJ-200 Studio Rosewood comes together with plenty of things to excite any and every acoustic player. The SJ-200 Studio Rosewood is crafted by hand and summons all the excitement and musicality you've come to expect from Gibson acoustics. All-solid tonewood construction and a gloss top finish makes this guitar special inside and out. Traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing makes an appearance on this SJ-200 to ensure a concise and balanced tonal palette.

The SJ-200 Studio Rosewood starts out simply with a solid Sitka spruce top. Balancing the brightness of the Sitka spruce, this SJ-200's rosewood back and sides contribute a warm foundation off which the rest of the voice can be built. This arrangement of wood tones is matched with a satin-finished utile neck. The guitar's neck, taking an Advance Response profile, plays seamlessly from lower to higher frets and inspires lengthy playing sessions. Sitting somewhere in the middle of Gibson acoustic neck profiles, the SJ-200 Studio Rosewood's neck is perfectly shaped – not too thick, not too thin.

Rosewood strikes again on this Studio model alongside its back and sides, taking the role of the fingerboard. This rosewood board, lined with twenty standard-sized frets, inspires nimble playing and smooth fretting for all types of acoustic music. Mother-of-pearl Graduated Crown inlays line the rosewood while a sixteen-inch radius lays out for a flat feel and response.

Fully stocked with those smaller appointments that always elevate the total experience, just take stock of the SJ-200 Studio Rosewood's TUSQ nut, Grover Rotomatic tuning machines, and multi and single-ply body binding. These features, adding up to a totally impressive sum, make the SJ-200 Studio Rosewood a knockout on every level. For the performers out there, this Gibson features an L.R. Baggs Element Bronze under-saddle pickup system that seamlessly translates its acoustic sounds to the stage. Once off the stage, this SJ-200 travels safely with an included Gibson hardshell case.
