This resonant bass projects regardless of its plugged status, providing low-end punch for low-key jam sessions, stripped down recordings, and any vibey scenario necessitating bass support. Equipped Ibanez preamp, pickups, and onboard tuner make the PCB54 a great four-stringed companion.

The grand concert sized meranti body delivers an open, resonant bass sound that projects in all environments. Finished in an open pore natural satin treatment, the aesthetics match the stripped down tonality that makes this bass great for low-volume get togethers—perceivable but never overpowering. Attached to the body is a meranti neck in the PBC profile, a smooth feeling wood that glides when higher registers are required. Topping the neck is a nandu fingerboard to deliver rich, warm tones that convey through natural resonance.

Offering string to body resonance is the nandu bridge fastened with black with white dot bridge pins. Once again, this nandu choice opens the guitar up with warm tones that translate with or without the electronics. To keep all notes stable, Ibanez installed reliable tuners to lockdown all bass notes for all playing styles.

For all plugged appearances, Ibanez installed their AEQ-2T preamp with accompanied undersaddle pickup, transferring the bass' natural resonance to an electric signal when utilizing the quarter-inch output jack. This preamp is equipped with volume, bass, and treble controls to balance the signal further, and even includes an onboard tuner for on the fly adjustments during gigs or when on the go.
