Everything on this 16 Series DSS starts with a sloped-shoulder dreadnought body brought together from spruce and mahogany. Hearkening to some of the dreadnoughts favored by the singer-songwriters of the 1960s, this sloped-shoulder frame presents a sleek, smooth, and comfortable shape to grab and get acquainted with. This sloped dreadnought is decked in a gloss top and back and sides satin finish with a warm 1935 Burst top color. For its voice, this guitar's scalloped spruce braces align in a forward-shifted X-Brace pattern for greater sustain and bass response.

At this point, this DSS-16E brings on a select hardwood neck in a Modified Low Oval profile with a High Performance taper. This sleek, smooth, modern profile makes for quick trips along the neck's full length with a satin finish of its own. An ebony fingerboard lays out and presents twenty frets with 1955 Style 18 Mother of Pearl inlays for a seamless feel on the fingertips.
