In the 16 Series, Martin blueprints for design get reassessed and treated to some tune-ups and revisions. For this GPC-16E, Martin starts with a GP-14 Fret Cutaway body brought together from spruce and East Indian rosewood. This classic combo of tonewoods matches up for an authoritative size made more comfortable with a 000 concert body depth to get up-close-and-personal. Classic spruce brightness and rosewood richness produce a vibrant, robust tone bolstered by scalloped spruce braces in an X-Brace pattern. These woods are treated to a gloss top finish with a Vintage Tint and satin back and sides finish for a striking mix of look and feel.

From here, this 16 Series continues on with a select hardwood neck shaped to a Modified Low Oval profile. With a High Performance taper, this more modern profile enables quick and easy moves from lower to higher registers and everywhere else in between. An ebony fingerboard bearing twenty frets and lined with Mother of Pearl Style 28 inlays matches with this neck for a seamless feel on the fingertips no matter the style of playing.

Backing up this extravaganza, Martin designs in a number of sturdy hardware specifications. An ebony bridge in a Modern Belly shape lands at the base of the scale with a drop-in TUSQ saddle for a solid transfer of motion string-to-body.
