2024 PRS S2 Mccarty 594 Thinline Electric Guitar, Black

Arriving in the PRS collection of fine electric guitars, the PRS S2 McCarty 594 Thinline is a quality instrument of sight and sound. Encapsulating so much of what makes PRS great, this guitar has it all.

With its most basic elements, the S2 McCarty 594 Thinline plays similarly to its non-thinline brethren. Starting out with a thin, all-mahogany body, the 594 Thinline harnesses all the sonic goodness and acoustic resonance of the tonewood to establish its baseline experience. The unique thinline-shaped body contributes that extra ergonomic element to the guitar, in addition to its asymmetric bevel top carve. When combined with a scarfed mahogany neck in a PRS Pattern Thin profile, this guitar comes together in hand effortlessly. The set mahogany is matched with a twenty-two-fret rosewood fingerboard with faux bone binding that tops off both a streamlined playing and distinct aesthetic experience. Iconic PRS Birds inlays line the rosewood for that final aesthetic element of PRS authenticity.

This assortment of PRS classic tonewoods is made more striking with a selection of high-quality electronics. Loaded in this S2 series model are two 58/15 LT humbucking pickups that summon interesting and impressive tonality. Made in America, these LT “low turn” pickups harness a distinctly vintage and warm tone with push/pull tone controls that expand this guitar’s sonic palette even wider. In short, these pickups show off all the incredible musicality the PRS name is known for.

In addition to this 594 Thinline’s electronics, PRS’s selection of hardware appointments adds to the finished product in a big way. A PRS two-piece bridge, made of brass and zinc, features four body contact points to ensure stability. Enhancing the natural tonality with its added mass, the bridge works as an essential element in stabilizing the playing experience of this Thinline. The fine hardware appointments continue further at the end of the neck with PRS Vintage-Style non-locking tuners with “Wing” buttons. These tuners, lighter in weight than their metal predecessors, promote resonance and musicality in strings by better concentrating vibrations and resulting in a more musical note.

The PRS S2 McCarty 594 Thinline arrives on the scene as a reliable and powerful PRS perfect for players seeking the next level of musicality. Wholly, it is a delight.
