PRS S2 Vela Satin Electric Guitar, Charcoal

A vintage-inspired guitar full of modern appointments and sounds, the PRS S2 Vela Satin is a boundary-pushing instrument for anyone to get into. Its balancing of classic and modern features make it a total knockout across every frame of reference, resulting in a totally killer electric.

Starting out with an iconic PRS double-cutaway solid mahogany body bearing an asymmetric top bevel, the S2 Vela Satin is smooth to the touch and streamlined in design. Notably, this model’s satin finish gives the body a vintage aesthetic and feel ideal for fitting in with any classic guitar collection. This model’s unique offset, double-cutaway shape is effortlessly handled and visually striking for playing casually or onstage.

This model's mahogany body is met with a set, scarfed mahogany neck in a PRS Pattern Regular shape. Combined with a twenty-two-fret rosewood fingerboard, the full experience of the neck is smooth and fit for quick maneuvers and dynamic playing. Iconic PRS Birds fret inlays adorn this rosewood for that unmistakable PRS aesthetic motif.

This Vela model is built up with a bold PRS pickup configuration. Pickguard-loaded and packing plenty of tonal territory to explore, a PRS DS-01 pickup in the treble position produces a bright, powerful, punky tone. This initial experience is matched with a PRS Narrowfield pickup in the bass position to expand on the musical spectrum this guitar is capable of. A coil-tap capability wired to the tone control allows players to split the treble pickup to incorporate authentic single-coil tonality and get even more sonic mileage.

Grounding this whole musical package is a refined PRS hardware setup. A PRS plate-style bridge lands easily on this guitar, harkening to early bass plate-style PRS bridges with a unique top-loading quality. This specific bridge features two brass saddles and a steel plate to compensate for intonation and streamline stringing. PRS’s low mass locking tuners add to this guitar’s tonal stability and stringing experience to ensure a consistent feel and sound across the entire instrument.

Distinctly a PRS creation with a sound and style of its very own, the S2 Vela Satin packs a charming tonal punch for your best boundary-pushing riffage.
