Description
Does it come in black? Of course it does! Welcome the Rickenbacker Model 330 Semi-Hollow in Jetglo. The model 330 has made quite a name for itself since its debut in the '50s, with artists like Paul Weller, Johnny Marr, Tom Petty, and Pete Townshend finding inspiration from the thinline over the decades. Known for its bright, jangly, and warm tones, today's model 330 has been refined even further to honor its legacy, while offering today's players a modern upgrade.
The 330 gets it signature shape from a double-cutaway, semi-hollow maple body and maple/walnut set-neck. It's all maple construction offer great sustain and top end sparkle. The entire instrument is finish in a sleek Jetglo finish and the body is accented with nickel hardware, a white pickguard, and black knobs. It's neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays and is crowned with 21 frets. The shorter 24.75-inch scale length aid to a smooth and easy play experience.
Amplifying the 330's voice are a set of Hi-gain single-coil pickups. The overwound nature of the pickups deliver a unique character that is not quite like other single-coils – full of jangle and shimmer. A 5-knob control set consists of 2 volumes, 2 tones, and a blend control. A 3-way toggle switch provides easy switching between pickup positions. Strings are loaded through the "R" tailpiece and 6-saddle bridge and are tuned to pitch with the Gotoh tuning machines at the headstock. The 330 comes complete with a hardshell case for protection at home or on the go.
Standing the test of time and making an appearance on thousands of records since the '50s, the model 330 is a great choice for any guitarist's sonic palette.
