Besides offering a quality acoustic guitar at an introductory price point, Taylor fills specialty markets through the 100 series as well. A longtime favorite style of guitar – a 12 string Dreadnought – is a member of the 100 series with the 150E. This guitar shares features seen throughout the 100 series, including a Sitka Spruce top, layered Walnut back and sides, and a genuine Ebony bridge and fingerboard.
Taylor’s layered wood system fits an interior and exterior ply of Walnut around a Poplar core. This process allows for the guitar to be less susceptible to weather and humidity damage as compared to a solid back and sides guitar. This feature among many makes the 150E an ample choice of 12 string for the player with a plethora of gigs ranging in locations and see the great outdoors without hesitance.
The 150CE also features the classic Taylor ES-2, making it stage ready with easy-to-use controls – a simple volume, treble, and bass control layout. Those playing the 150E for longer durations of time will love its comfortable 1 7/8” nut width, and especially considering it’s on a Taylor neck – the straightest in the game.
The 150E makes a great first – or next – 12 string acoustic guitar, and it’s fit for all price points and skill levels.
