Taylor's "next gen" take on one of their classic models, this 500 Series Grand Auditorium acoustic drops in right on time with new spins on the brand's iconic specifications, shapes, and sounds. A new spin on classic Taylor? Just about.

This Taylor Next Generation model plays to plenty of the brand's strengths with new visions at nearly every turn. Everything on this ship sets off with, first, a Grand Auditorium body brought together by mahogany back and sides and a western red cedar top. For a radiant, rich, and robust tonal profile, this combo of Taylor's classic mahogany and distinguished red cedar blooms for a guitar with plenty of projection and harmonic complexity baked in. These qualities are accentuated with the Next Generation's scalloped V-Class bracing pattern that builds up the woods' voice and Taylor's standby proprietary bracing pattern.

From here, this Next Generation 514ce steps up with a neo-tropical mahogany neck – another Taylor staple. This neck slips seamlessly in hand alongside Taylor's West African Crelicam ebony fingerboard on the fingertips. New Meridian-style inlays punctuate this dark board for a cool visual flourish. The neo-tropical mahogany neck also shares the quality of another Taylor "next-gen" upgrade, its Action Control assembly. This quality makes common neck and string action adjustments easier than ever, offering a greater opportunity for do-it-yourself adjustments to keep your Grand Auditorium playing exactly as you like it.

Throughout this model, we're met with a couple more Next Generation enhancements. Along with the model's keen white body binding, Venetian cutaway, and Taylor nickel tuning machines, the Next Generation 514ce is equipped with Taylor Claria electronics. Designed in collaboration with live sound professionals, Claria electronics introduce an all-new preamp and pickup combo meant specifically for translating the 514ce's sounds to the stage with unprecedented EQ control.
