Description
Of all the bass guitars to have ever hit production lines, Music Man’s StingRay is widely accepted as one of the most iconic basses in history because it was the first bass guitar to ever feature onboard active equalization. Today, Music Man continues to create their iconic groove machines, but reimagined for modern players.
The Music Man StingRay Special 5 sports a roasted maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard finished with gunstock oil and a hand-rubbed wax for premium playability. The 5-bolt sculpted neck joint provides stability and access to all 22 stainless steel frets. And improved contours, lighter hardware, and lighter body wood selection resulted in over a one-pound weight reduction from previous StingRay models.
If there’s one thing StingRays are known for, it’s super-punchy, massive low end that can fill football stadiums (just ask Flea). That’s thanks to the beefy Music Man Neodymium Humbucker in the bridge. To lend a helping hand, StingRay’s 18-volt active preamp and 3-band EQ let you supercharge and sculpt your sound. The Music Man StingRay Special 5 is a durable, performance-ready bass guitar that packs a thunderous punch.
