Gibson Custom Shop 1964 SG Standard Reissue Electric Guitar, Ultra Light Aged Dirty Shell Pink

Quite possibly the coolest SG to walk through our doors, we're googly eye'd for this Gibson Custom Shop 1964 SG Standard Reissue in Aged Dirty Shell Pink - lightly aged to perfection. This one of one custom creation was spec'd in house at Russo Music through the Gibson Custom Shop's Made to Measure Program, bringing dreams to life one guitar at a time. Let's rock and roll.

Using the '64 SG Standard Reissue as the base model, this SG gets its signature double-cutaway body shape from 1-piece of solid mahogany that is expertly contoured for comfort. A simple yet powerful design, the body is completed with a white pickguard, nickel hardware, and black top hat style knobs with silver inserts. To amplify its voice, a set of unpotted Customerbuckers deliver excellent P.A.F. era humbucking sound. Sound can be further explored with each pickups volume/tone controls and the included 3-way switch.

For its neck, a 24.75-inch scale length mahogany neck is glued into the body in a traditional Gibson fashion. The neck meets the body at the 22nd fret, providing easy access to the upper frets. The neck is topped with a bound 12-inch radius rosewood fingerboard that is crowned with 22 medium jumbo frets and 9 aged cellulose trapezoids inlays. Strings are loaded through the Maestro Vibrola tailpiece which provides expressive control over vibrato. The strings then make contact with the ABR-1 bridge before resting in the slotted nylon nut and are strung to pitch Kluson Deluxe tuning machines. The open book head stock sports the Gibson logo and a crown inlay – true to '64 SG's.

The entire guitar has been finished in Aged Dirty Shell Pink and has received a ultra-light ageing from the Murphy Lab – transforming the shell pink into almost a peach color. With ultra-light ageing, subtle finish checking, cloudy hardware, and a nice broken in feel are present on the guitar, adding to the character and vibe. The SG comes complete with a black hardshell case with yellow interior lining for safe keeping at home or on the road.
