Let's break down the control scheme on the Rerun. The BLEND control dials in the mix of the effect with the "clean" signal, ranging from completely unaffected to totally drenched in delays. The DELAY knob lets you control the repeat time of the delay, ranging from a slapbacking 8ms to a super-stretched 3 seconds. The SAT parameter injects realistic saturation, or even distortion, onto the delay signal, adding warmth to the repeats. It's worth noting that the SAT control doesn't affect your clean tone, only the delay effect. Next, the FDBK control determines how many times the delay repeats, whether it be a lonesome solo repeat or a cascade of numerous echoes. For more feedbacking, hold down the footswitch for infinite echoes until the switch is let go. Lastly, we have the FLUTTER button, engaging three separate modes that increasingly apply tape modulation, where slight chorus to sea-sick warbling can be achieved.

Electro-Harmonix has equipped the Rerun with two different bypass modes: "Analog" and "Tails" bypass. These two modes, both buffered bypass, control how the effect is handled when the pedal is disengaged. "Analog" works as usual with most delay effects, halting the effect once it's put in bypass. "Tails", however, lets the echoes finish their business when put in bypass, allowing for creative and dramatic applications for musical compositions. The footswitch on the Rerun also doubles as a tap tempo, allowing for on the fly groove setting with at least two taps of the switch. Operating on 9VDC 100mA center-negative power supply (included), this Rerun slots in nicely to any delay-seeking pedalboard.
