Gibson Custom Shop 1957 Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar, Light Aged Heavy Antique White Dark Back

The '57 Gibson Les Paul Standard – the first full year the model featured the famed P.A.F. humbucking pickups that are still sought after till this day. With the help of our friends at Gibson Custom Shop, we present this 1957 Les Paul Standard Reissue with a Light Aged Heavy Antique White top and dark back. This guitar was brought the life through Gibson Custom Shop's Made to Measure program – allowing dealers and customers (like you!) to bring their dream guitar to life.

This Les Paul is constructed from Gibson's signature tonewood recipe: a mahogany body capped by a maple top, carved to perfection. Clocking in at 9 lb 3.7 oz, the Les Paul feels great and delivers a sweet tone with plenty of mid-range chunk and top end snap. The body sports a light aged heavy antique white top and is paired with a dark back, this combination looks unique and adds character. Completing the body is the inclusion of aged nickel hardware, cream plastics, and gold top hat control knobs. Delivering that signature P.A.F. sound are a set of handwound Custombucker pickups in both the neck and bridge positions – unpotted, of course. Tones can be further modified with each pickup's volume/tone control and the 3-way switch.

Attached to the body in a traditional set-neck fashion, a 24.75-inch scale length mahogany neck provides an excellent play experience with its '50s Chunky "D" shaped neck profile. The neck is double bound and is topped with a 12-inch radius 1-piece rosewood fingerboard. The board is crowned with 22 narrow-tall frets and features aged cellulose trapezoid inlay markers. Strings are loaded through the stop bar tailpiece and ABR-1 bridge before making contact with the nylon nut. The strings are strung to pitch with the Kluson Deluxe tuning machines. The open book headstock sports the Gibson logo and Les Paul model decal proudly.

The entire instrument features Murphy Lab's Light Aged treatment – simulating decades of natural play wear. Expect to see weather checking in the finish, cloudy hardware, and a broken in feel, it's great! The Les Paul comes complete in a Lifton reissue case with its Gibson Custom Shop COA.
