For many, the '59 Gibson Les Paul Standard is the holy grail guitar, the pinnacle. Celebrating the rare single-cutaway model we have this glorious Heavy Aged Gibson Custom Shop '59 Les Paul Standard finished in Molten Amber Burst. This limited edition model comes to us from Gibson Custom's Limited Edition collection – a series of small batch guitars inspired by their Made to Measure program. The artisans of the Gibson Custom Shop did an excellent job putting this one together from headstock to output jack.

This 1959 Les Paul Standard reissue gets its signature body shape from a handpicked AAA flame maple top upon a solid mahogany body – carved just the way they used to make 'em. This classic tonewood pairing offers the iconic Les Paul sound – thick, warm mids with definition and snap on the top end. The body is top bound and finished with era appropriate nickel hardware, cream plastics, and gold top hat control knobs. To amplify its voice, a matched pair of covered Custombucker Alnico 4 pickups deliver that unmistakable P.A.F humbucker sound. Its pickups are paired with 2 volume and tone controls as well as a 3-way switch.

It's one-piece mahogany neck is carved to an Authentic 1959 profile and glued into the body in the traditional set-neck design construction. The long neck tenon construction allows for outstanding resonation and sustain, making the guitar sing. Its neck is topped with a bound rosewood fingerboard with cellulose trapezoid inlays and features a 12-inch radius and 22 medium jumbo frets for a refined playing experience. Strings are loaded through the ARB-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, rest in the nylon nut slots, and are tuned to pitch with the Kluson Deluxe tuning machines.

The entire guitar features the Murphy Lab's Heavy Aged treatment offering both a visual patina and tactile feel. This level of aging replicates decades of road use and abuse in all the right ways – buckle rash, dings, dents, scuffs, finish checking, and rolled fingerboard edges – it is a true delight to play.
