Gibson Custom Shop L-00 Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Argentine Grey

As part of Gibson Custom Shop's Greatest Hits Collection, we have this Gibson Custom Shop L-00 in Argentine Grey. While smaller in size, this small body acoustic offers a big sound, suitable for strummers and fingerstyle players alike. Crafted from premium tonewoods and materials, this L-00 showcases Gibson's master craftsmenship.

This flat top has been constructed from a combination of Sitka spruce and mahogany, the same tried-and-true tonewood pairing the model has used since its debut in 1932. A timeless classic, the guitar delivers warmth, roundness, and sizeable projection. It's top is supported by traditional scalloped x-bracing to promote resonation and a tighter low end response. Both the top and back of the body are wrapped in white binding and the top receives a tortoiseshell pickguard. The body is finished in Argentine Grey, a greenish-grey burst finish that was offered on Gibson instruments in the 1930's 

A mahogany neck is fashioned to the body in a set-neck design and is glued in place using hot hide glue. The neck's profile is a comfortable SlimTaper, offering accessibility for faster fretting and chord changes. Its neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard and is crowned with 19 frets and accented with dot inlays. 

High quality hardware keeps the L-00 performing its best. Stings are loaded into the rosewood bridge and are held in place by tusq bridge pins. A tusq saddle and nut guide the strings to the headstock before being strung to pitch with the Grover Mini Rotomatic tuning machines located on the open-book headstock. For amplification, an L.R. Baggs VTC system is located within the body and can be controlled via the soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls. The guitar includes a high quality hardshell case for travel and storage.

Looks, charm, sound, and style, the L-00 has it all. There's a reason the L-00 has been in production since 1932 after all.
