JHS Pedals 3 Series PHERB Reverb Phaser Effect Pedal

Call it fan service, call it what you want, whatever it is, it's the JHS Pedals 3 Series PHERB! This love letter to the JHS fanbase, constantly asking for a FLERB – a phaser/reverb in the style of EHX's Holy Grail mode – plays it both ways. The PHERB gives a distinctly "JHS" spin on the classic phaser/reverb mode for something reverent but fresh, or "PHRESH," if you're feeling saucy.

The Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail has long featured a third, modulated reverb mode, "FLERB," mixing a reverb and phaser. This PHERB effect, a direct response to the JHS crowd demanding a 3 Series FLERB, delivers on the premise, but takes some creative liberties to make it an effect all its own. The tone in question still is based around the premise of a phaser and reverb together. Uniquely lo-fi, moody, and dark, the PHERB employs a four-stage vintage-style phase shifter (like a Phase 90) for distinct modulated swirling.

Things break out from the FLERB's original formula with the PHERB's two-way Break control. A staple of JHS's 3 Series pedals, the two-way switch engages an asymmetric bitcrusher for a blend of boxy distortion to further mangle and psychedel-ify the PHERB. All in all, the PHERB is not your traditional reverb, phaser, or FLERB, but why would you want the same-old-same-old in the first place?
