Martin 000C1216E Nylon Mahogany 16 Series With Case

The Martin 000C12-16E is an auditorium-style nylon string acoustic guitar. Ideal for classical and folk music, this Nazareth, PA-made Martin guitar offers professional level playability and features, with a cutaway body of course allowing for easier access to the guitar's higher register.

The 000C12-16E is part of the Martin 16 series of guitars, noted for their gloss top and satin finish back and sides pairings - as well as solid wood construction; no laminate woods used here. It begins with a gloss finished spruce top, enforced by Martin's Unique/A Frame X-bracing system. With a mahogany back and sides pairing, the 000C12-16E delivers staple acoustic tone.

This guitar is also noted for its longer 26.44" scale length and 1.875" nut width. Although these may seem like daunting numbers when comparing spec to a steel string acoustic, fret not as this is common practice for nylon/classical guitar builds, as nylon strings require more tension for proper playability.

You can take this guitar on the road again with the help of onboard electronics in the Fishman Matrix VT Enhance NT1 system. This system combines an undersaddle pickup with Fishman's Enhance transducer system, which when blended can allow for strengthening the dynamics of percussive playing. Volume and tone controls for the Matrix undersaddle pickup are at the top of the sound hole, while the Enhance pickup volume is located on the bottom.
