Maybe you might have known about this, but the sun never sets in Sweden. Sure, Scandinavia might have a reputation for its fair share of dreary winters, cabin fever, and that one time of year when the sun only barely passes the horizon before it rubber-bands back out, but it's true. The sun never sets, the summers go on forever. It's actually quite common that Stockholm'ers and Gothenburg'ers alike string up their surfboards, hop in their woodies, and hit the shores to crush some gnarly pounders. No lie!

Okay, so maybe that's a bit of hyperbole. Swedish summers are, in fact, not as conducive to the endless summer slacking so enjoyed in other parts of the world. Head down to a Swedish seashore and you'll sooner see a knight playing chess with Death before any surfboards or beach bunnies. As has been proven though, Scandinavia's natural qualities being unfriendly to surfers and beachgoers has not dissuaded the minds over at Surfy Industries from giving it a whole-hearted effort anyway.

Surfy Industries has reached around the world to the sunny shores of Southern California for their loving and authentic representation of an eternally bright and splashy musical form. Surf's up!

Introducing Surfy Industries

For the gang over at Surfy Industries, the dream of the 1960s' Southern California is far from gone. The brand, unique for its singular focus on the sounds of '60s Californian musical forms and gear, has proliferated past its European origins to wrap around the world, uniting every surfboarding hopeful in its path.

The Surfy story first began as a passion project between Swedish and Italian surf music aficionados Bjorn Isheden and Lorenzo Valdambrini. Kicking off proper around the time of 2016's Surfer Joe Summer Festival in Italy, Surfy Industries' first claim to fame was Isheden's SurfyBear DIY Fender 6G15 reverb unit replica kit, grandfathered in from an original design. Isheden's 6G15 reverb replica gained traction on surfguitar101.com among the ravenous surf music guitarists of the world incapable of resisting Surfy's authentic analog spring reverb experience. Within a couple years, Surfy Industries grew with operations based in Sweden, Italy, and the United States for an international community of analog-adoring, wave-chasing musicians.

Today's Surfy Industries is comprised of a robust lineup of analog, vintage-style effect units that cover plenty of the baseline ingredients that made '60s surf records so delectable. Spring reverbs, harmonic tremolos, octave fuzzes, and more all drift about Surfy's wake for an unmistakable and irresistible blend of analog effects sunny and smiling even all these years on.

Point Break

Surfy Industries Effect Pedals

For Surfy Industries, the stylings of vintage surf music are bigger than an aesthetic flourish or a colorful backdrop in campy old movies. The era's bright and splashy sounds are something of a science and an art, in more ways than one. If you're in that same boat* when it comes to the wonderfully rich tones of analog effect units, Surfy Industries has plenty in store for you.

Surfy Industries Reverb Effect Pedals

Throwing it back to where it all started, the Surfy Industries SurfyBear is an effect unit to encapsulate the full Surfy story. Whether you're looking into the SurfyBear's Classic, Compact, or Metal forms, you're taking a ride with the brand's iconic spring-loaded reverb pan experience each time. The SurfyBear Classic, a slimmer spring reverb unit decked in era-accurate Tolex, delivers a scaled-down version of the SurfyBear spring experience from the Compact – today offered as the Compact Deluxe. This iteration on the SurfyBear Compact loads in two spring reverb mixers for on-the-fly swapping between reverb settings alongside an onboard Surfy-designed tremolo. The brand's SurfyBear Metal makes the biggest statement for spring reverb effects with its bold, large-and-in-charge presentation. Each SurfyBear iteration delivers on the authentic, splashy, "drippy" spring reverb tone that, for some, simply can't be replicated outside Surfy's true-blue, spring-loaded units.

Surfy Industries Modulation, Fuzz, and Amplifier Effect Pedals

While the brand made their bread and butter through spring reverbs, this love for the foundational effect has left them anything but landlocked. Their success with their namesake reverbs has only driven them to similarly great effect units all within the greater surf music canon. When you're looking for further additions to your surf music toolkit, check out Surfy's SurfyTrem and SurfyTrem Deluxe tremolos. Nearly as iconic in surf music as spring reverb, Surfy's tried their hand at the other effect splitting the rent on classic tube amplifiers. Either pedal offers an authentic tremolo experience to match your SurfyBear reverbs and get those slick, rhythmic chops that rock a signal like an incoming tropical depression.

Things aren't always as smooth sailing out on those waves, of course. Those hankering for a taste of rocky waters can turn to Surfy's SurfyFuzz. A labor of love in more ways than one, the SurfyFuzz combines interpretations of iconic '60s fuzz circuits like the Mosrite Fuzzrite and AceTone Fuzz Master into a single stompbox perfect for garage rock stylings. If you're looking to build a Surfy experience from the ground up, not just brush in the highlights, the Surfy Industries SurfyMan preamp and SurfyPower amp module put you on the path. The SurfyMan throws it back to early icons of Californian tube amplifiers with authentic analog preamp tone and tremolo effects. Couple this unit up with the SurfyPower and you've got a complete analog amplifier ready to perform.

Endless Summer

Surfy Industries takes on a unique, vivid slice of Americana and brings it to life in ways its contemporary players and brands simply never could have. Surely not for a lack of imagination but more realistically for constraints of technology, the original musicians and gear of surf music never reached the heights possible since set by Surfy. In a way, there's never been a better time to play surf music. The tech's been updated, its reliability and performance more assured, and what's more, everyone's into it – just ask Surfy's global community of players.

The Surfy Industries story is one of the limitlessness of creativity. "You're telling me it's nearly sixty years later and dudes are still firing up a couple of springs in a box for their reverb? You're telling me they're not tired of it? You're telling me they're making it better and better?" Surfy Industries' seemingly bottomless well of inspiration for new innovations in surf music gear is analogous to the image of the mythical endless summer – if something was so great, if you loved it so much, why would you ever find the end? Why would you ever want to know a limit?
