The Taylor Grand Concert body shape, first introduced by Taylor Guitars in 1984, was designed with fingerstyle in mind. Its smaller body and thin waist create a focused and exacting sound without the booming overtones of some of Taylors larger body shapes. This makes it great for recording, as the focused sound cuts well in the mix, as well as fits between other instruments. The Grand Concert also has a shorter scale length, giving the strings a looseness that is comfortable and appropriate for fingerstyle. For anyone looking for a tighter, even sound melded with the lax and comfortable feel of a smaller body, the Taylor Grand Concert is a wholesome choice.
