Commemorating the indispensable instruments of Fender's "Golden Era," the JV – or "Japanese Vintage" – Modified series takes cues from Fender "Japanese Vintage" reissue models made in Japan in the early 1980s. Today's JV Modified series comes together to celebrate the style and sound of Telecasters and Stratocasters from a distinctly unique point in Fender history.
The JV Modified '60s Custom Telecaster features a double-bound basswood body shaped in the iconic single-cutaway Tele shape. The basswood body is paired with a maple neck in a Soft "V"-shape with a satin finish. A rosewood fingerboard with Medium Jumbo frets make reaching higher and lower registers seamless for strumming chords or picking leads. Vintage-voiced single-coil Telecaster pickups are fashioned with a four-way selector switch that can engage either pickup individually or both at the same time in series or parallel wiring configurations. A push/pull tone control offers out-of-phase sounds for the Tele to expand on the Telecaster single-coil spectrum. The inventive functions and features of the JV Modified '60s Custom Telecaster make it an outstanding Fender entry in every respect.
