Description

One of Gibson's most famous acoustics flutters in with the Gibson 1960 Hummingbird Heavy Aged. This iconic acoustic first touched down in 1960 and became a quick favorite of the singer-songwriter and rock guitar crowds who would go to color the decade in their own folksy, pastoral vision. The Hummingbird still stands as one of Gibson's most beloved and prolific acoustics, and to address such a reputation, we have the 1960 Hummingbird Heavy Aged. Carrying with it all the light and sweet musicality the model is historically known for, the 1960 Hummingbird Heavy Aged features a number of fine specifications to elevate the bird to a new echelon. A thermally-aged top fitting with hide glue bracing makes this bird sing loudly and proudly while its Gibson Custom Murphy Lab Heavy Aged finish treatment replicates the look and feel of a guitar that's lived a cool sixty years or so. The Hummingbird's classic flowery pickguard makes an appearance to solidify the whole instrument as fully authentic and sweetly musical.
