A torrefied spruce top—heat-treated to stabilize the cell structure—delivers a quick, dry response and a bit of played-in articulation. Paired to layered walnut back and sides with a two-piece back, the body resists climate swings better than all-solid builds, which is useful when the guitar actually leaves the house instead of living under a humidifier.

The body is deliberately slimmer at roughly four inches deep, so you get the projection you expect without the boxy feel. Traditional X-bracing under the top supports the long 25.5" scale, yielding taut string tension and a focused low end that doesn’t smear when you dig in.

The neck is maple in a comfortable “C” profile, finished in a fast, natural matte that won’t turn sticky under stage lights or summer humidity. A 1.6875" Nubone nut keeps the feel compact—left-handers who prefer a narrower nut will appreciate the string spacing—while the 15" fingerboard radius and 20-fret layout on a eucalyptus board balance chording comfort and clean bends. Positioning is straightforward thanks to 4 mm Italian acrylic dot inlays, and intonation stability is helped along by die-cast chrome tuning machines and Taylor’s consistent factory geometry.

Hardware and trim are intentionally workmanlike. The West African Crelicam ebony bridge is durable, precise, and ethically sourced; the natural matte finish is thin and unobtrusive, emphasizing touch over gloss.
