Get ready for action - they’re back!
Fender and original Blink-182 guitarist Tom Delonge are sustaining the anticipated return of one of the world’s favorite pop-punk powerhouses with the reissue of the Fender Limited Edition Tom Delonge Stratocaster.
The original run of the Tom Delonge Strat ran from 1999-2004, and while examples of the guitar do exist on the used market, they aren’t necessarily easy to find. These reissue guitars stay true to the design of the originals. So if you’re a fan of Blink and missed out on the original run, call yourself Touchdown Boy. However, this guitar is for fans and sort-of fans alike and is an easy match for rockers, shredders, and drop-tuners.
The Tom Delonge Stratocaster starts with an Alder body with Gloss Poly finish, modern “C” neck profile with Slab Rosewood fingerboard, 21 medium jumbo frets, and hardtail bridge. The most notable signature aspect of the guitar is in the electronics. The Delonge Strat has always been known for its single bridge pickup - the Seymour Duncan Invader, an ultra-high output riffmeister with the chunkiest low end response offered in the company’s selection of passive pickups.
For electronics, the only control on the Delonge Strat is a single master volume wired with a treble bleed circuit, ensuring clean headroom when - or if - you turn this guitar down.
The only real difference this reissue Strat has from its original run is in the neck finish, which may also come preferred to some. The OG Delonge Strat featured a gloss Urethane lacquer maple neck, while the reissue receives a Satin Urethane finish. Also new to this signature Strat is the neck plate, sporting an original Tom Delonge design.
After an almost 20-year absence (We know, we know, just consider it nostalgia), the Tom Delonge Stratocaster is available once again. Get yours now or they’ll be gone before you blink.
