Description

The Gretsch G2622 Streamliner Center Block Double Cut is built with an arched laminated maple top, back, and sides. Its double-cut design provides easy access to higher frets, and the inclusion of a center block along its length sets it apart from fully hollow guitars, minimizing feedback and enhancing sustain. These attributes make the G2622 Streamliner semi-hollow guitars especially suitable for high-gain music when compared to fully hollow alternatives.

The G2622's Nato neck is carved to a notoriously comfortable soft "C" profile and is host to a laurel fingerboard, topped with pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays. The fingerboard offers a 12" radius, and 22 medium jumbo frets that provide a "best of both worlds" fret style that's not too big or small, making for a fingerboard that's comfortable to the fretting hand.

Broad'Tron BT-3S bridge and neck pickups are also largely responsible for this guitar's nuanced tone, producing robust midrange, extended low frequencies, and a clear but velvety high end. This combination results in an ideal blend of power and comprehensive fidelity, all simply handled by versatile controls, including two Volume pots and a Master Tone/Volume pot. Gretsch puts an emphasis on the electronics in the G2622, with the incorporation of a push/pull pot that enables coil splitting and allows players to achieve a single-coil-esque pickup sound using humbuckers.

Finished in a beautiful Gunmetal, the gloss body and neck are home to a V-Stoptail tailpiece, a 3-ply tortoise shell pickguard, Gretsch Radio Knobs, and aged white neck and body binding, with B/W/B purfling. With a legacy dating back to the early 1950s, Gretsch continues to produce exceedingly well-playing, affordable instruments.
