The EarthQuaker Blumes Low Signal Shredder is EQD's first foray into bass-centric overdrive, cut from the same cloth the Plumes Small Signal Shredder. The Blumes cranks it up a notch, however, with double the gain and an enhanced bass response to make sure that the low end is more geared toward the range of a bass guitar.

Created to cater specifically to bassists, the Blumes boasts an all-analog, tri-mode overdrive with soft clipping–a nod to the classic screamer circuit but with its own distinctive voice. A bipolar power supply injects dynamics, clarity, and an abundance of headroom into users' signal, delivering a three-dimensional tone that works in tandem with bass amps.

With a gain control that ranges from crunchy Plumes-esque tones, to a full-on bass forward sound, the Blumes offers a versatility that's synonymous with EQD pedals. Three distinct clipping options allow a spectrum of grit types: mode 1 employs symmetrical LED clipping for a crunchier edge, Mode 2 offers a clean OpAmp boost, and Mode 3 deploys an asymmetrical silicon diode arrangement, delivering a warmer low-end response with increased transparency.
