Description

Fender has a bit of a history with its country music, and that history manifests today with the Fender Buck Owens Kingman. Paying homage to one of country music and television's great personalities, Fender drops in an especially patriotic instrument for the players of today.

Buck Owens, a pioneer of the Bakersfield sound and one of Fender's first acoustic artists, might be known for his tenure as the co-host of the hit TV variety show Hee Haw, but cannot be understated as an artist. Proudly sporting guitars with red, white, and blue color schemes, Buck Owens gravitated toward Fender acoustics and today, Fender gives back some of that same patriotic spirit.

Fender's Buck Owens Kingman is assembled from a solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. This selection of tonewoods results in a substantial, bass-filled voiced with plenty of articulation, detail, and volume. A "C"-shaped mahogany neck springs from this dreadnought body to offer a modern-feeling grip in hand. Alongside these features, a bound rosewood fingerboard with a sixteen-inch radius and pearloid block inlays lands to offer a comfortable fretting experience.

Following Buck's example as a performer, this Kingman comes equipped with an onboard Fishman Presys VT Plus preamp system with soundhole-mounted controls. These controls work to harness the power of the Kingman's undersaddle piezo and internal body transducer electronics for an accurate acoustic profile whether performing live or with a recording device. Further performance-minded specs include a tilt-back six-in-line headstock with vintage-style tuning machines and a bone nut for easy string changes and sturdy intonation. Wrap this all up in a custom signature hardshell case and you've got yourself a guitar for the stars.

As a figure from a time not so bygone, Buck Owens represents real American showmanship with a Fender guitar. Today's Buck Owens Kingman captures a similar sentiment with its proud color scheme and knockout tone. Take part of this American legacy and hear the sound of country.
