2023 Martin Custom Shop 0000-14 Acoustic Guitar, Sinker Mahogany, Natural w/ OHSC - Used

This Martin Custom Shop 0000-14 Grand Auditorium features a tonewood of epic proportions: Sinker Mahogany. The story of this specific guitar's wood begins hundreds of years ago, when its tree of origin was cut down and laid to rest in the deep waterways of Central America. The natural aging process that occurs underwater overtime results in a priceless piece of excavated lumber with microscopic mineral deposits that act like fairy dust giving this guitar a touch of magic.

This guitar has a Custom M body with a 3-piece back. A darker piece of sinker mahogany was chosen for the center wedge, with a contrasting grain giving it an attractive pop between thin flamed maple and black purfling.

This not-so-common Martin body has a 11.375" upper bout and a 16" lower bout, which is just a hair wider than the standard Martin dreadnought.  With the body depth of a 000, this model is a comfortable playing option that doesn't sacrifice low-end boom. The unique body size along with its Adirondack Spruce X bracing provides a balanced frequency response that complements the sinker mahogany's warm tonal character. The natural compression of Adirondack Red Spruce prevents any over-vibrating of the top, yielding a controlled sonic output.

In addition to the solid black Ebony fingerboard, and matching Sinker headplate with the Old-Style Gold Martin Logo decal, black binding on the top and back with white pinstripe purfling and subtle hints of tortoise give this guitar a stylish edge that sets it apart from the Standards. Equal parts function and fashion, the construction and appointments of this guitar add up to dynamic and beautiful USA-made instrument.

There is a crack in the back binding on the upper bout right below the neck heel cap, which virtually invisible during play or performance.
